Troubleshooting Tips
Loss of Power The primary purpose of a transmission is to transmit engine torque to the driving wheels of the automobile. This is accomplished through a number of reduction gears and the use of a torque converter. The performance of your transmission is contingent upon the power that is supplied to it and the driving members to which this power is transmitted. If it is a loss of power that you are experiencing, it may be caused by something other than the transmission. One of the leading causes of this symptom is a clogged exhaust system, which is external to the transmission. Regardless of what the causes maybe, a vehicle that experiences a loss of power must be checked by an experienced and trained technician. If the loss of power is attributed to the transmission, we will recommend the necessary repairs to correct the problem.

Hesitation Hesitation from the stop position or upon the transmission shifting gears is another common problem experienced by transmissions today. Trying to pinpoint the source of this problem can be challenging because there are many causes of this type of condition. We recommend having your transmission electronically tested by one of our certified technicians to determine the cause of the problem.
